Hi spice,

Sunplay Skin Aqua Sarafit UV Essence SPF50+.

How are you? I don’t have to tell you how important it is to use sunblock /sunscreen because you should know it already. You should wear them at the earliest age in your life especially if you reside in a country like Malaysia. Malaysia receives very generous amount of sunlight through out the year. It’s a very sunny land. Few months ago, I started using Sunplay Skin Aqua Sarafit UV Essence SPF50+ because I heard that it’s pretty good, affordable and they’re easily accessible at Watsons and Guardian. I’m almost finished with it and I have formed opinions about the product. Keep on reading if you’d like to know how I feel about it.

My skin: Acne prone and oily on the T-zone.

Haha. Anyone can read the writing?

It comes in a conventional squeezy tube. Pretty basic but it works.

The Sunplay Skin Aqua Sarafit UV range consists of the Skin Aqua Sarafit UV Essence and Skin Aqua Sarafit UV Mist. I bought the essence because I’m not sure how I feel about the mist and I’m just more comfortable with how conventional the essence is. Sunplay’s Skin Aqua Sarafit UV offers the highest protection against UVA with its 4PA+ to protect against UVA rays, which is the main cause of premature ageing.

Skin Aqua Sarafit UV Essence has a runny cream/lotion consistency and it has a fresh floral scent. So, it’s definitely not fragrance free. Even though I have sensitive skin, my skin does not react badly to the fragrance. I like how lightweight and easily blend able it is. It also absorbs into the skin pretty fast. You know how sometimes certain sunscreens can be too gloppy and greasy, this sunblock does not do that. Overall, I’m pretty happy with how the texture of this sunscreen is formulated. The Sunplay Skin Aqua Sarafit UV Essence 50+ PA++++ is alcohol free, colorant free and mineral oil free.

Before and after.

This UV essence claims that it can hydrate the skin throughout the day with the help of Hyaluronic Acid and Super Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid can be found in a lot of moisturizing skin care because it can help to hold moisture on your skin. If you have oily skin like me, you must be asking will it make your face oilier? I can’t say that I’m not oily at all through out the day when I’m using this sunscreen because that’d be a miracle but the oiliness is pretty tolerable.

I have started incorporated Alpha H Liquid Gold in my skin care few months ago because I constantly broke out as a result of wearing full-face makeup (I think). Alpha H Liquid Gold is a very powerful chemical exfoliant thus it makes my skin quite sensitive to the raging sunlight in Malaysia. I noticed that I have become so much tanner after using Liquid Gold and my skin also developed few fine lines on my forehead. It must be the Sun! At the same time also, I started using this sunscreen.

This sunscreen offers the highest protection against UVA but I don’t why I keep getting tanner and my skin has started showing signs of premature aging. I know that one of the reasons is because I’m not that young anymore. But in my humble opinion, I don’t think this Skin Aqua Sarafit UV Essence helps protect my skin from the harmful UVA rays. If your skin care regime does not include any strong chemical exfoliants like Liquid Gold, I think this will be a reasonable sunscreen for you. But as for me, I need a sunscreen that’s more effective which can suits my needy skin.

Will I repurchase? No

Who would I recommend it to?

Everyone who needs lightweight sunscreen but does not need protection like I do. If you’re using Retinoid or chemical exfoliant, you need something stronger.

Price: RM40

Availability: Watson and Guardian.
