Products Review: Mario Badescu Eye Makeup Remover Gel (non oily)

Hello world.

Playing with makeup is a lot of fun, I can do it all day without complaining. I feel like I’m in art class even though art is not my strong suit. The downside of putting full face makeup is of course I have to remove it before going to sleep or else I’m gonna end up with pimples and whitehead. Bummer. Makeup remover is a necessity for everybody who likes to play with makeup like me. I believe I haven’t found my holy grail makeup remover yet because I think it’s just hard to find something that can really do the job.

While on the mission of finding new makeup remover I came across one at Luxola.com that really caught my attention. It’s by Mario Badescu and it claims to be non oily. I don’t know about you but I despise makeup remover that leaves oily residue. I know oil is good to remove makeup but I just feel yucky. So, when I found something that claims to be non oily I just have to grab it.

I’m just getting serious with makeup this couple of months because I know now for sure that’s what I like to do. So, you can I understand when I say that whole my life I just have the pleasure to try 3 makeup removers. The very first one was from Maybelline followed by Clinique and the most recent is by Mario Badescu. Maybelline eye makeup remover is pretty cheap but I find that I really have to rub my eyes with the product to take off all the waterproof mascara. Rubbing products to the delicate skin around the eye is not something you should do because it can cause premature wrinkles. Girl, nobody wants that.

Does this remind you of Vaseline?

I have tried the product for about 2 weeks now and here’s my take on Mario Badescu Eye Makeup Remover Gel ( Non Oily):

Reasons why you should buy it: I must say that I really like it because it didn’t leave oily residue around my eyes. It didn’t smeared my eye makeup all over my face. It has gel consistency hence the bottle is squeezable. Gel eye makeup remover is something new for me and I find that it’s gentle to skin around my eyes. I think it did a great job removing my eyes makeup if I use generous amount of it.

Reasons why you should think twice: I find that even though to my bare eyes there’s no more mascara left on my lashes but while taking my bath I can see that the mascara and eyeliner bleeds around my eyes, if you know what I mean. The first time it happened to me, I think maybe I’m not removing it thoroughly. So, I took extra efforts and make sure I remove everything but it still happened. What I think help is I have to put generous amount of the product on cotton pad hence I find no more bleeding.

Verdict: If you are looking for a non oily makeup remover, I think this product is great for you to try. In my opinion, this product is more suitable for people who do not wear heavy eye makeup. If you like dramatic eye makeup, you can finish this product in about a month. I think that’s not really a problem because this product by Mario Badescu is not that pricey. It’s very affordable. Definitely a repurchase product.
