Review(mini) : e.l.f Zit Zapper Acne Treatment

Hello Champ

So yeah, I’m back with a mini review. If you guys know me, you know that I’m at my early 30’s and I’m still battling with zit and acne. Not very severe but they really bug me because I know when I’m at this age I should not have this kind of problem. Why oh why? Hormones I guess? But if I remember it right when I was a teenager, I used to have pretty flawless skin. Oh, how I miss those days. For now, I’m not taking any medication or antibiotics since the severity is only moderate so I just used topical acne treatment to keep everything at bay.

Few weeks ago, I bought e.l.f Zit Zapper because it’s very inexpensive and all the reviews were very convincing. Based from my reading, e.l.f Zit Zapper will help you to fight and prevent acne, reduces redness and swelling and minimizes pore size. Oh my.. How can I resist that?

How to use: Apply directly to blemishes nightly

Ingredients: ACTIVE INGREDIENT: Salicylic Acid 1%

OTHER INGREDIENTS: Water, Witch Hazel (Hamamelis virginiana) Distillate, Alcohol, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Polyacrylamide, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Laureth-7, Cinnamomum Camphora (Camphor) Bark Oil

The active ingredient in this product is salicylic acid and you know that salicylic acid is very good to fight acne because it can exfoliate the skin as well as decrease inflammation. If you have oily skin like me, salicylic acid can open up your pores to resolve and prevent lesions. I did not notice any stinging effects when I applied it on my face. Salicylic acid is less irritating than more potent treatments like benzyl peroxide, so it may be better for those with dry skin. It also tends to work well on stubborn blackheads.

e.l.f Zit Zapper comes in a clear tube container like what you can see from the picture above and the applicator is like a roller ball. I like the packaging but I’m not so sure about the roller ball thingy because in my opinion it’s not very hygienic. So, what I do is I applied the product on my fingertips and applied it on the problematic area. The product does not have any color to it thus it will not show if you wear it under makeup.

So, does it really work for me?

When I purchased this product, I had one cystic acne that nearly popped on my cheek and the other one on my nose was still quite invisible but I can feel that it’s coming out and it’s going to be a nasty one if I didn’t treat it. So what I did was, I applied e.l.f Zit Zapper on those areas before I went to sleep after I cleaned my face. When I woke up in the morning, I can see that the one that hasn’t come out is pretty much gone. Wow! But the one that nearly popped hasn’t improved that much. It takes about 2-3 days for it to take effect on that little bugger.

My recommendation is you have to use the product on the area before it’s gotten to the stage where you can see the zit or acne clearly. You know what I mean? Also, I read it somewhere that you have to distribute the products generously on the problematic area but when I did that I have whiteheads all over. I really don’t know how your skin will react to this product but if you have sensitive skin like me, you have to be careful.

I really hope this post is helpful. If you have any question, just comment below. Thank you so much for your time.
