Review: Paula’s Choice CLEAR Extra Strength Daily Skin Clearing Treatment with 5% Benzoyl Peroxide
Hello..
Don’t rely on motivation
I know it’s been awhile but I do hope I still have followers that are patiently waiting for my new post. I’m really sorry for disappearing and I hope I can be forgiven. There’s no excuse for me being gone; should I just blame it on motivation? Recently, I just discovered that it’s better not to rely on motivation because motivation is fleeting. What I’m trying to say is, it is better for you to depend on discipline because discipline is what gets shit done all the time. Get it?
My battle with acne
I’ve been battling with acne since I know what makeup is. It’s a really tiring battle but I wouldn’t say it’s a lost cause. If you’re in the same boat as mine, one thing we can do is, control it. Just a while ago, I discovered this miracle worker by Paula’s Choice. It goes by a really mouthful name; CLEAR Extra Strength Daily Skin Clearing Treatment with 5% Benzoyl Peroxide (I die).
What it does?
It’s basically a topical treatment that you apply directly on your acne twice a day. It claims to controls excess oil, soothes skin, and visibly calms redness, while its hydrating properties minimize dryness and flaking.
How do I feel about it?
As I said earlier, it is truly a miracle worker. If you break out during your monthly flow without fail (like me), you know how annoying it can be because it’s inevitable. This product is a lifesaver for me because, after I applied it on the acne, it will soothe the skin and in matter of days, the acne will subside and you’ll be on your merry way.
What’s so good about it?
If you’ve tried a lot of acne treatment that contain Benzoyl Peroxide, you know how drying it can be to your skin. Some of it works like a charm but I think it’s just a hassle when you have the deal with the dryness before you can appreciate the effectiveness of the product. With Paula’s Choice Extra Strength Daily Skin Clearing Treatment with 5% Benzoyl Peroxide, I can safely say that I rarely have to deal with the dry stage. It’s almost seems to good to be true right?
Another thing that I’d like to mention here is, this treatment has a super light lotion texture and can be worn under makeup without looking flaky. This fact really is a plus point for me because it means that I can treat my acne during the day. That leads to less time I have to deal with the acne.
What you should know before trying it out?
Paula’s Choice came out with 2 types of Daily Skin Clearing Treatment, one with 5% Benzoyl Peroxide (extra strength) and the other one is with 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide (regular strength). I used the extra strength because I can stand it (I have slightly sensitive skin). If you’re a girl that’s blessed with super sensitive skin, you might want to opt for the regular strength treatment.
If you read reviews online, you might see a lot of people complain about how flaky their skin was after using this product and that might scare you away. There’s no way to know how your skin will react to the product unless you try it yourself right? What I did was, I bought the sample size product. That way even if the product does not work for you, there will be less heartache because you did not spend that much money on the first place.
Warning: You might feel sharp tingling sensation after you applied it on your skin. Nothing major, the feeling will fade away in a minute.
How I use it?
I didn’t apply it straight on my acne after cleansing like suggested. For me, I prefer to apply it on the problematic area using q-tips after I finished moisturizing my face. Guess what? I think that’s the reason why I did not experience so much dryness like some other people.
